Bucharest Skyline

Sunday, 21st of June, we are organsing our first game in Romania! Join us for a 1-day game of Hide + Seek across the Municipality of Bucharest. This game uses the frequent metro network and the dense, ancient tram network. Hide between Communist era blocks, in beautiful parks or on quaint neighbourhood markets. We can promise you that playing here is unlike anywhere in the world!

Getting There

  • Meeting point: We will meet on the Piata Unirii, the city’s most important square and biggest transport hub of the city. You can reach every corner of Bucharest from here!
  • Flights: Bucharest has two main airports, Henri Coanda (OTP) and Aurel Vlaicu (BBU). Both are great options with frequent transport links into the city. Other cities do have airports too, but we do not recommend them as they are all 200km+ from Bucharest.
  • Trains: Bucharest Gara de Nord is the main train station of the city. You can find domestic trains to every corner of the country with also night trains to Chisinau, Sofia, Budapest and Vienna. Do keep in mind that crossing the country takes an entire day, so we recommend looking for flights if you do not have a lot of time.
  • Transit tickets: We will use the entire Metrorex network and all tram lines operated by the STB. A 24h ticket including both costs just 18 RON or €3,60, an absolute bargain! But you can also only get the Metro day ticket for 12 RON or €2,40 and pay just 3 RON or €0,60 for a 90 minute ticket valid on all tram services.

Game Info & Map

  • Format: Standard Hide + Seek rules with a Medium Metric setup.
  • Playable area: The map covers all metro and tram stops opened on game day in the Municipality of Bucharest.
  • Hiding radius: 350m around the chosen station.
  • Map: Checkout the embedded map below, or open the full version here.

About Bucharest

Bucharest was founded in the 15th century by Vlad Dracula, the prince who was the inspiration of Count Dracula. Bucharest is sprawling and transit-heavy, making it a high-stakes setting for Hide + Seek. The city mixes a fast underground metro with dense historic alleys, massive parks, and grand avenues, giving hiders excellent options to disappear completely.

You won’t have to worry about connection drops: Bucharest boasts some of the world’s fastest mobile internet. Fuel up on the go with cheap, ubiquitous covrigi. Bringing a power bank, a 24h ticket, comfortable shoes and tons of covrigi are a must to win this game in the city once called ‘Paris of the East’!
